Roofing Resources

Your roofing insurance guide.

A hail or wind claim can feel overwhelming. It doesn't have to be. This is the part we specialize in — here's how the insurance process works, step by step, and exactly where MCMaster steps in to handle it with you.

From the first inspection to the final invoice, we act as your advocate — so your only out-of-pocket cost is typically your deductible.

  1. Get in touch

Call or text us at 806-698-4653, email info@mcmasterroofing.com, or send a message through our site. We'll start with a free, no-cost roof evaluation.

  2. Protect your property

Insurance often covers temporary fixes that prevent further damage — like tarping a leak after a storm. Check with your agent about emergency repairs, or we'll help you confirm what's covered.

  3. Document the damage

Before you file, get a professional assessment. We thoroughly inspect your roof — plus gutters, siding, and fences — and document every bit of storm damage with photos so nothing gets missed.

  4. File your claim

You file the claim with your insurance company. We'll make sure you have everything you need — the inspection findings, the documentation, and a clear picture of the damage.

  5. Meet the adjuster

This is the big one. We meet your insurance adjuster at your property and walk the roof together, making sure every bit of legitimate damage is accounted for in the scope of work. Having an expert in your corner here matters.

  6. Loop in your mortgage company

If you have a mortgage, your lender is often involved in the claim payment. Let them know about your claim early and understand their process for payments, affidavits, and lien releases. Being proactive here prevents delays.

  7. Schedule the work

Once the claim scope is approved and we're aligned on the details, we'll schedule the best time to restore your roof — with a clear timeline and no surprises.

  8. Inspect the finished roof

When the work is done, we walk it with you. We take pride in our craftsmanship, and once you're fully satisfied, we'll go over the final details together.

  9. File for depreciation & keep your records

After the work is invoiced and your initial payment is made, you can recover the remaining depreciation from your insurer. We'll help you through it. Then hold onto every document — from us, your insurer, and your lender — as your warranty and claim record. After that, just enjoy your new roof.

You don't have to figure this out alone.

Insurance claims are confusing by design. We've walked countless West Texas homeowners through this exact process, and we'll be right beside you from the first inspection to the last signature.
